RCC-Supported Missions
I.D.E.S.:
I.D.E.S. is a Christian-based international emergency relief organization.
Whenever there is a natural disaster, an epidemic, or a famine, I.D.E.S.
steps in to provide aid and support. Gifts to I.D.E.S. can be given for a
specific relief-effort (like the earthquake in Japan), a general area of min-
istry (Evangelism, Hunger, Medical, Disaster, Development), or to help
with the operating costs of the I.D.E.S. organization. One of the great things
about giving to I.D.E.S. is that, unless you specify you want your gift to help
with operating costs for the organization, 100% of your gift goes to relief
efforts.
Team Expansion - Japan, Corey Shields :
Having grown up at RCC, Corey Shields is one of our “Timothies”. He has
answered the call to the mission field, and his family resides in Japan, where
they bring the Gospel to the Japanese people. Corey has also partnered with
the CRASH-Japan organization in providing volunteer support for the after-
math of the earthquake and tsunami that struck the nation in early 2011.
Pleasant Meadows Christian Village :
The residents of Pleasant Meadows represent one of the most vulnerable and
neglected groups in both the Church and the world. Pleasant Meadows makes
every effort to provide a safe and nurturing, Christ-centered environment for
senior saints who are no longer able to live independently.
New Mission Systems International - Derek Ried :
New Mission Systems International coordinates 200 missionaries in 28 differ-
ent countries around the world. They also facilitate short-term mission trips
which provide much needed help for their supported missionaries. Derek Ried,
son of our own Rick and Denise Ried, works to coordinate and staff these short-
term trips.
Good News Productions :
Good News Productions helps to spread the Gospel message by creating mat-
erials in print and video to aid missionaries around the world in their efforts.
Not only do they work to put these materials into local language translations,
but they also deeply research the various cultures to make sure that the mess-
age of their materials is culturally relevant.
Northwest Haiti Christian Mission :
The Northwest Haiti Christian Mission works tirelessly to minister to the
physical and spiritual needs of tens of thousands of people in the poorest
regions of the poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere. Churches, schools,
food and medical clinics, a hospital, elder care, and a Bible college are all
operated and supported by NHCM. God has taken one Vietnam Vet’s dream
and turned it into an entity that has touched and changed the hearts and lives
of Haitians and foreign volunteers alike!
Lincoln Christian University :
Lincoln Christian University plays a critical role in teaching and equipping
generations of preachers, ministers, and professionals for service to the Lord.
With a firm devotion to this charge, LCU’s programs provide Biblical education
to traditional students and adult learners in Central Illinois and Las Vegas, NV.
A number of our congregation members and staff have taken, or are taking
advantage of LCU’s educational offerings.
Hanging Rock Christian Assembly :
Christian camps provide an excellent channel of evangelism and outreach
for youths and families. Hanging Rock is a unique in that it provides opp-
ortunities for growth year-round. The programs are a blessing to both the
youth or adult groups that attend, as well as those who volunteer. It is not
uncommon for campers to show up from 90 or more miles away! So the
reach of this ministry really covers our local mission field and beyond.
Hanging Rock Leadership Center, Debt-Free in 3 Campaign:
The Debt-Free program was initiated to pay off all outstanding camp
debts after the construction of the camp Leadership Development
Center. In only 2.5 years, $133,000 of debt have been eliminated.
Planning for the future and paying off debt is simply good stewardship!
Prairie States Christian Service Camp :
As stated, the importance of Christian camps in providing safe and healthy
opportunities for faith-building and equipping of people, young and old,
for leading impactful, well-rounded lives. One of the unique challenges that
have cropped up is that the ratio of “churched” and “unchurched” campers
has altered drastically. Where the assumption once was that most campers
were attending from a home church, now there are many who know nothing
of God and the Jesus of the Bible. Prairie States continues to face this chal-
lenge, balancing their programs to both engage and inspire “churched” cam-
pers, while at the same time providing an introduction of Jesus and the Bible
to the “unchurched”. Serving campers from inner-city Chicago to down-state
rural towns and villages alike, Prairie States remains a steadfast and faithful
player in the Kingdom-Work of God.
Europe for Christ - Harold and Enid Fowler :
The relationship between Harold and Enid Fowler and RCC spans generations.
Their longevity in the mission field of Italy is a testimony to God’s faithfulness
and to the Fowlers’ love of the Italian people. Harold’s books and Bible comm-
entary have spoken words of hope to the people of Italy and beyond.
